Paul Steely White, Transportation Alternatives, Executive Director

In his presentation: "The Advocates: Priorities for 2017", Paul Steely White will talk about how Transportation Alternatives will continue promoting the expansion of New York City's network of protected bike lanes, as part of the broader effort to watchdog Mayor de Blasio's Vision Zero initiative to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries by 2024. TransAlt will continue to call on City Hall to invest more to redesign the most dangerous streets, and bring pedestrian safety improvements, better cycling infrastructure and bike share to more communities across the five boroughs. In addition, Paul will possibly address the status of the Verrazano Bridge Bike Path proposal, as a continuum of the Harbor Ring Connection, which TA has supported.

Cyndi Steiner, NJBWC, Executive Director

Cyndi plans to discuss the state of advocacy in NJ and several bills NJBWC would like to work on. She will describe our Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee process and the role NJBWC plays in it. She will also talk about the NJ Bike Depot program, the state summit and advocacy in the time of Trump, and Complete Streets in New Jersey.
