Lunch stop changed to David's Bagels in Mt Ivy.

The "no lunch" variation (62 miles, 4400", difficulty: 106) goes up Rossman/Thiells Mt Ivy Rd/Letchworth Village Rd to Willow Grove, forgoing David's Bagels and the not-so-bike-friendly Rt 202 west to it, then includes Tiorati Brook Rd.

Requires return by MetroNorth from Garrison. Metro North bike pass needed.

You can always eat at the deli in Garrison or the Depot in Cold Spring after the ride.

A diagonal traverse of Putnam County and back. You will definitely know you aren't in Kansas. JZ: "I removed the CT part of the standard Putnam Ramble. I also took out Mooney Hill and Farmers's Mills and replaced it with 311, Luddingtonville Rd, Horse Pound and Nichols to 301, something a bit different."

Check Metro North schedule for correct times. Don't forget your bike pass.

Lots of climbing. Beautiful country roads, some unpaved.

A basic introduction to this area.

Cycle friendly firehouse at 8.9 miles. Deli at 11.3 miles.

Caution as shoulders narrow quickly and blind curves.

Notes on well-documented map.

There is no bailout option in the first 67 miles. 128 miles to Peekskill, 121 miles to Beacon.

"The route contains some steep rollers in the first 20 miles. It's easy to overcook it early on in the ride. Definitely a route I'd recommend with some sort of GPS available as it's around terrain that most of our club doesn't know.

Cue sheet from NJ side of GW Bridge.

Can eliminate Gate Hill Rd climb and go directly lunch as it is a loop.
