A long meandering route that tackles just about every climb between GWB and Beacon with flexibility for distances and speeds.

The ride usually ends in Cold Spring; Beacon is a bit over the top. NOTE: Rte. 218 over Storm King Mtn. (from Washington Gate to Cornwall) may be closed.

A scenic, hill climbing excursion (7 climbs) in New Jersey a stone's throw from the George Washington Bridge. A very nice change from doing repeats of the Alpine climb on River Road. Dead Presidents has at its object riding every President-named road in the area off Hillside Avenue (i.e., Eisenhower, Truman, Jackson, etc.). This leads to much looping around. Do this ride with a casual pace, stick together and pay no attention to who gets to the top first. Instead, admire the architecture of the big, booming houses.

A gratuitous hill billy out and back, covering a lot of interesting roads within striking distance from Central Park.

The dangerous left off Tweed onto 9W north has been re-routed to a U turn on first opportunity off Hickey, then back north on 9W to make a right onto Ash.

Please take care descending Tweed to 9w and Ash all the way to Piermont, especially with traffic and/or wet conditions.

Also take care on the descent of Closter Dock: traffic and possible grates.

Lunch in Piermont.

Requires return by MetroNorth from Garrison. Metro North bike pass needed.

You can always eat at the deli in Garrison or the Depot in Cold Spring after the ride.

This 78 mile ride lets you motor down 9w, Western Hwy, and Strawtown for 30 miles before taking you up into hills including Gate Hill, Tiorati Brook, Perkins, and Storm King. Bail option after Perkins for approx. 60 miles

Perhaps the limits of a strong, determined B rider.

9W north of the Bear Mtn Circle to 218 is not the friendliest place for a bicycle. Keep way right. The shoulder is diminutive at best at times.

You can tie "The Knot" many ways. To deserve the name "The Knot" a ride must come at the crossroads of Tweed Blvd and Clausland Mountain Rd from every direction. This route does not technically achieve this but it takes in the added climbs of Old Mountain/Christian Herald/Mountain View and Schuyler Rd. There's plenty of climbing here.
