However, your wheels must have quick-release skewers (the things that hold the wheels onto the bike) as opposed to a skewer that requires a wrench to loosen a nut; and if your bike has downtube shifters (mostly on older steel road bikes), you must know how to use them properly. Each week, we build on what we have learned in the previous weeks. Since much of our course material is presented in the early weeks, attendance at the first three sessions is particularly important.</span></span></p> <p style="font-stretch: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial; -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; -webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-kerning: none">Signing up for the C-SIG means you have made a commitment to spend 8 consecutive Saturdays cycling with us this spring. You are required to attend at least six of the eight rides. And if you miss the Orientation on March 24, plus one of the first two rides (March 24, or March 31); <b>OR </b>if you miss two of the first three rides (March 24, March 31, April 7), you will not be allowed to continue.</span></span></p> <p style="font-stretch: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial; -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; -webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-kerning: none"><b>Dates</b></span></span></p> <p style="font-stretch: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial; -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; -webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-kerning: none">We start with our Classification Ride (one day only) on <b>March 10, 2018</b>. We then hold an Orientation session and first group ride on the morning of <b>Saturday, March 24. </b> (The indoor Orientation will take place on the 24</span><span style="font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; -webkit-font-kerning: none;"><sup>th</sup></span><span style="font-kerning: none"> rain or shine. The rain date for the first ride is <b>Sunday March 25</b>). Both the Classification Ride and Orientation are essential to participating in the SIG. More details are in the confirmation email you will receive after you register for the C-SIG, and there will be another email toward the end of February with more information as well. (Please read the FAQs linked at the top of this page, and read the emails you will get post-registration.
