Don’t Miss NYCC’s First Post-Covid In-Person Monthly Members Meeting!

Location: Ellington in the Park, Riverside Park & 105th St.

Join us for the return of the monthly club member meetings that so many of us know and love!  A safe event at an outdoor venue on the Hudson River with a live webcast via Zoom!  Food, drinks, and raffle prizes generously supplied courtesy of the Law Office of Vaccaro & White.

6:45 Presentation by speaker, Steve Vaccaro, “Bike Law, Bike Rights”

Our speaker will be Steve Vaccaro, a leading lawyer and advocate for cyclists.  In addition to serving as NYCC’s Programs Director and as an active NYCC ride leader, Steve is a board member of Bike New YorkTransportation Alternatives, and the founding board member of StreetsPAC, the cyclists’ political action committee. Steve has written about, advocated, organized, and litigated for cyclists’ rights for 15 years.  In a profile of his personal injury practice, the New York Law Journal described Mr. Vaccaro as “perhaps New York City’s best-known lawyer advocate for bicyclist and pedestrian rights.”  His presentation, “Bike Law, Bike Rights” will cover the following topics:

  • The most common crash scenarios, how to avoid them, and insurance for when you can’t
  • What to do when you’re in a crash
  • Bike ticket tricks and tips
  • New traffic laws every cyclist should know
  • What the incoming Mayor and City Council mean for cycling in NYC

Please join us either in person or by Zoom for this event!  As always, non-members of NYCC are welcome.

A map showing the location of Ellington in the Park, the venue for the event, is shown above.  Best access is via the 102nd Street Ramp on Riverside, or the via the Greenway (turn right at ~100th Street to pass under the Parkway Ramp). Plug “Ellington in the park” into your phone, you’ll find it!

Attendees will begin to arrive at 6:00 p.m., and between 6:30 and 8:00 p.m. the program will take place and will be streamed over Zoom onto your phone, desktop, or other device.
