Austin Horse has ridden his bike in NYC for work, pleasure, activism, and mundane convenience for almost 20 years. His professional cycling credits include years as a professional bike messenger; 2 world racing championships, 5 national and countless local race wins; and as a stunt double for Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Columbia Pictures’ 2012 full-length film set in the New York City bike scene, Premium Rush. He also www.google.com/url?q=http://cyberspaceandtime.com/sWJZCOAnjSW9f6FIH67k.v...">https://www.google.com/url?q=http://cyberspaceandtime.com/sWJZCOAnjSW9f6..." href="http://cyberspaceandtime.com/sWJZCOAnjSW9f6FIH67k.video+related" target="_blank">team-ghost-rode a deceased veteran bike messenger’s bike 170 miles to Albany to lobby for single-payer health care in New York State.  And when superstorm Sandy hit, he organized the distribution of www.google.com/url?q=http://animalnewyork.com/2012/bike-art-installation...">https://www.google.com/url?q=http://animalnewyork.com/2012/bike-art-inst..." href="http://animalnewyork.com/2012/bike-art-installation-powers-diy-charging-..." target="_blank">bike-powered DIY phone charging generators to New Yorkers stuck without power. Since 2009, Austin has worked to expand cargo bike use in New York City, from the introduction of the first Bullet cargo bikes, to spearheading a start-up that designed, manufactured and leased e-cargo bikes capable of 500 pounds of payload, and now as manager of a major cargo bike fleet that has kept the city running during lockdown.  Austin is optimistic about the future of cargo bikes, and you should be too! Join us to hear more about Austin’s life in the saddle, and the future of cargo and delivery biking in New York City.
