Join your NYCC friends on 4th of July at New Paltz for three days and two nights of fireworks, sightseeing and perhaps the best cycling in the region for all classes of riders!

Itinerary

 

Friday July 3rd:  In the morning, meet in Manhattan to drop off your bags with the luggage van, and pick a ABC train-and-bike ride to New Paltz. Easy-to-epic options from 10 to 100 miles.

Friday night will be a laid back ride into the Town of Highlands to catch the local fireworks.  Return along the moon-lit Harlem Valley Rail Trail!  Alternately, you can check out the night life in New Paltz. 

Saturday July 4th:  Continental breakfast at SUNY New Paltz, followed by a full range of ABC ride options including: west towards the Shawangunk; north to the Ashokan Reservoir or historic Kingston; east along the Hudson Valley Rail Trail to Hopewell Junction. Hard pack options include the Wallkill Valley Rail TrailIllinois Mountain Park, and the legendary Mohonk Preserve carriage roads.

Saturday night will comprise an "all-class" dinner, followed by a short sojourn down to the river to catch yet another fireworks display over the Ulster County Fairgrounds.

Sunday July 5th:  Continental breakfast at SUNY New Paltz, followed by ABC bike-and-train rides to Manhattan. Your bags will be delivered to a designated location for you to pick up.

Weekend Cost

Includes: two nights at the modern Lefevre Dormitory in SUNY New Paltz; Saturday group dinner; two continental breakfasts; luggage shuttle to/from Manhattan.

Or members are welcome to arrange their own accommodations and partake in rides, the Saturday dinner ($35), the Sat-Sun continental breakfasts ($10 each) and luggage shuttles ($10 each way).
