Polly Trottenberg is Commissioner for the New York City Department of Transportation and serves on the MTA Board.   Her 22 years of government experience include over four years at the US Department of Transportation, most recently as the Under Secretary of Transportation for Policy where she developed key initiatives for the Obama Administration, including the groundbreaking TIGER discretionary grant program.   During her 12 years on Capitol Hill, Ms. Trottenberg served with U.S. Senators Charles Schumer, Daniel Patrick Moynihan and Barbara Boxer. Prior to her work in Congress, Ms. Trottenberg also served at the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. Ms. Trottenberg holds a B.A. in History from Barnard College and an M.P.P. from the Kennedy School of Government and lives in Brooklyn.

Mitchell L. Moss is the Henry Hart Rice Professor of Urban Policy and Planning, and Director of the Rudin Center for Transportation.

The Rudin Center for Transportation Policy and Management at NYU's Wagner school explores current and emerging challenges in transportation and infrastructure. The Center draws upon faculty and graduate students from NYU to conduct research on issues such as cities and mobility, mass transit and access to work, super commuting, and flexible modes of transportation.
