We start at Clason Point in Soundview after disembarking from the NYC Soundview Ferry (check NYC Ferry schedule at www.ferrynyc).  We ride through Soundview Park and take a little detour through Soundview to view the NYCHA house where Supreme Court Justice Sonya Sotomayor grew up - Sonya Sotomayor Houses, at 1090 Rosedale Ave.   There is optional loop through the SUNY Maritime College, with spectacular waterfront views.

Scenic ride through diverse 'hoods, including Prospect Park, Ft. Tilden and the Rockaways, over neat bike paths, with beaches and shorelines along the Atlantic Ocean.  There will also be some sobering parts, such as Breezy Point, the Flight 587 Memorial, Long Beach Boardwalk (newly reopened one year after Sandy), and Point Lookout. Mostly paved or wooden boardwalk (though with just a teensy bit of rough roads plus some stretches with a bit of wind-blown sand).  Finish at local fave Gino's of Long Beach (pizza) across from the LIRR station.

This urban adventure goes down the Jersey side of the Hudson and offers spectacular views of Manhattan. You'll start by going thru a couple of very pleasant neighborhoods, with a pit stop at a cafe/boutique (don't buy anything more than you can carry!). Once you get onto JFK Boulevard, stop a couple of times for photos. Then look for all the history along the route: the site of Burr & Hamilton's duel, with a statue depicting it; several moving 9/11 monuments; WWII monuments; Black Tom Island.

We are exploring all the Queens waterfront we can find on this ride, and many different neighborhoods, all identified on your cue sheet.  We start with Queensbridge, Rainey, & Socrates Sculpture Park, and Hallet’s Cove. After we leave Astoria we cruise through Jackson Heights and catch the Flushing Bay Promenade with a wonderful view of Flushing Bay and LaGuardia Airport.  Our ride to Beechhurst is through picturesque neighborhoods to Little Bay Park greenway with a spectacular view of the waterfront beneath the Throgs Neck Bridge.

A short ride around Staten Island to see where ships go to die. You'll also see a bit of history as you pass thru historic Richmond Town.  Then you'll glide past the beach on Father Capodanno Blvd and the Franklin Roosevelt Boardwalk.  Bring snack food or stop at a deli to have a picnic on the boardwalk.
