This urban adventure goes down the Jersey side of the Hudson and offers spectacular views of Manhattan. You'll start by going thru a couple of very pleasant neighborhoods, with a pit stop at a cafe/boutique (don't buy anything more than you can carry!). Once you get onto JFK Boulevard, stop a couple of times for photos. Then look for all the history along the route: the site of Burr & Hamilton's duel, with a statue depicting it; several moving 9/11 monuments; WWII monuments; Black Tom Island.

This scenic park along the Hackensack River was once a landfill. Now it offers a gorgeous bike trail, kayaking, dog park, and public restrooms. All along Euclid Avenue in Ridgefield Park you will find memorials commemorating the wars in which U.S. veterans defended our country. Lunch at Cafe Angelique, a French bistro with high quality food and pastries is a special treat.

If you think Long Island is strip malls and nightmare traffic, this is your chance to discover the gilded age glory of the Gold Coast. And if you think Long Island is flat, put on your big boy pants and consider 3095 feet of climbing in 57 miles, including one humdinger with a 12% average grade.

This is another of Claire and Linda's famous Dumpling rides.  Great anytime, but especially wonderful for those cold winter months where only short rides will do.
