The opening of the Mario Cuomo Bridge bike path makes possible this loop that allows cyclists a largely car-free paved bike path from Manhattan to Tarrytown, the beautiful long crossing of the Hudson River on the new Cuomo bridge path between Tarrytown and Nyack, lunch at the Runcible Spoon which has outdoor seating and a free water dispenser for cyclists, then a return that includes River Road.

We are exploring all the Queens waterfront we can find on this ride, and many different neighborhoods, all identified on your cue sheet.  We start with Queensbridge, Rainey, & Socrates Sculpture Park, and Hallet’s Cove. After we leave Astoria we cruise through Jackson Heights and catch the Flushing Bay Promenade with a wonderful view of Flushing Bay and LaGuardia Airport.  Our ride to Beechhurst is through picturesque neighborhoods to Little Bay Park greenway with a spectacular view of the waterfront beneath the Throgs Neck Bridge.

Part of Claire and Linda's famous Dumpling Rides series, this route takes you though Queens neighborhoods, various parks, on bike paths & protected bike lanes, with a stop at the Kissena Velodrome. Lunch on dumplings at Galaxy Dumpling in Flushing. Great winter ride, as there are numerous subway bails if your tootsies start to freeze.
