Salisbury Mills-Cornwall Railroad Station, start> Rt 94> Jackson Ave> Orrs Mills Rd> Rt 32 south> Quaker Ave> Rt 9W south> Peck's Rd> Hulse Rd> Black Rock Preserve, end
Oh my, this is one of the toughest ascents in our region, and it is only an access road!
New Brunswick Railroad Station, start> Somerset St> Rt 27> Six Mile Run, end
Easy enough.
But these trails are subject to wear when wet. Your bike will pick up a heavy clay mud in the process. Before you go, check with this site to assess riding conditions: http://www.mtbnj.com/forum/threads/6-mile-run-conditions.23594/page-384
When you emerge at the far side of Six Mile Run you can take the Delaware and Raritan Canal towpath either to the right, back to New Brunswick, or left, on to Princeton or Trenton.
Cold Spring Railroad Station, start> Rt 301> Fahnestock State Park, end
The simplest route in the Ride Library. And only one hill!
Note School Mtn Road access is a left on Rt 9 and a right onto the access road.
Other points of access exist: East Mtn Rd, Dicktown Rd and Wiccopee Rd. But not on this page.

South County Trailways @ Tuckahoe Rd, start> Tuckahoe Rd> Ridge Hill Blvd> Otis Dr> Sprain Ridge Park, end
This is the back door entry into Sprain Ridge Park. The formal way in is off Jackson, near the Grassy Sprain. You can access Sprain Ridge via Metro North out of Yonkers, Greystone, Tuckahoe or Bronxville but this is an easy ride north from Van Cortlandt Park.

Sloatsburg Railroad Station, start> Eagle Valley Rd> Sterling Mine Rd> Mill Pond Rd> Margaret King Ave> Greenwood Lake Tpk> Marshall Hill Rd, Airport Rd> Jungle Habitat, end
Kind of a slog on a mtn bike, but it will get you there.
You could use this to do a loop on a road bike:
at mile 8.4 take a right onto East Shore Rd, taking you up the eastern side of Greenwood Lake
follow to Rt 17A and take a right over Hogback,
Pick up Long Meadow Road on the right before Rt 17 and follow south back to Sterling Mine Rd.
Otherwise, remember that you still have 10.5 miles to go to catch the train home at Sloatsburg after mtn biking.

Sloatsburg Railroad Station, start> Eagle Valley Rd> Sterling Mine Rd> Long Meadow Rd> Sterling Mine Rd> Sterling Forest Park, end
This is the access to the original cycling and hiking venue. The main trail goes around the lake, which is strikingly beautiful. It does not directly access the newly built singletrack, which is on the eastern side of Long Meadow Rd. However, you can do that if you stay on Long Meadow Rd past the turn for the visitor's center and look for the parking area on the right.
Quite a pleasant route; open country and good shoulders where you need them.
You can opt to take the next left off Long Meadow Rd into the park, especially if you are on a thinner tired bike.
Pleasantville Railroad Station> Rt 117 west> Graham Hills Park, end
Easy access from Pleasantville Railroad Station.
