A short ride around Staten Island to see where ships go to die. You'll also see a bit of history as you pass thru historic Richmond Town.  Then you'll glide past the beach on Father Capodanno Blvd and the Franklin Roosevelt Boardwalk.  Bring snack food or stop at a deli to have a picnic on the boardwalk.

This is a short ride to cross all four East River bridges in lower to mid-Manhattan, and the Pulaski Bridge from Queens to Brooklyn as a bonus. Take in the views, count the boats. Leave late morning so you can stop at Brooklyn Bridge Park for lobster rolls and ice cream.  Create your own route to the start at 60th St. & First Ave. and home from the finish at City Hall Park.

Take an urban ride to the Rockaways for a picnic on the Boardwalk. Watch the surfers hit the waves. Pick up lunch at Boardwalk Bagel or find a choice of ethnic food at the boardwalk concessions.  Plenty of subway bailouts or the ferry from Seaside if you linger too long on the beach.

We are exploring all the Queens waterfront we can find on this ride, and many different neighborhoods, all identified on your cue sheet.  We start with Queensbridge, Rainey, & Socrates Sculpture Park, and Hallet’s Cove. After we leave Astoria we cruise through Jackson Heights and catch the Flushing Bay Promenade with a wonderful view of Flushing Bay and LaGuardia Airport.  Our ride to Beechhurst is through picturesque neighborhoods to Little Bay Park greenway with a spectacular view of the waterfront beneath the Throgs Neck Bridge.

This is an interesting ramble through the Bronx from the Central Park Boathouse via Randall’s Island connector to City Island with return to Manhattan via the High Bridge. The route takes advantage of many greenways through Soundview, Pugsley and Pelham Bay Parks. The loop around the SUNY Maritime Campus beneath the Throg’s Neck Bridge is spectacular.
