Program: The Challenges and Joys of Owning a Bike Shop in 2018 (The Good, the Bad and the Funny).
With the recent closing of bike shops in the tri-state area, Tenafly Bicycle Workshp (TBW) has managed to grow their business. Shepard Grinker, owner, will be discussing how they not only have brought the bike shop back from the dead, but have managed to make the shop a destination location for their customers. Shepard will also be discussing how TBW has created a community around the shop, and how they have focused on community and youth programs. Above all else, he sees cycling advocacy as their primary focus.

Shepard Grinker
Shepard Grinker lives in Tenafly, NJ and has owned the Tenafly Bicycle Workshop since March, 2014. He has been riding bikes seriously since 1985. Shepard is a CNC machinist and manufacturing engineer by trade, who has learned the bike shop world by jumping into it.
