Date:Tuesday, October 13, 2020
Location: Virtually, via Zoom Video CommunicationsSchedule: 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Program
Program:
While the city’s transportation policy founders, there remain more prosaic questions facing New York cyclists in the bike boom: for instance, where can I lock safely or get a repair efficiently? Shabazz Stuart, cycling advocate and founder and CEO of Oonee bicycle storage systems, has answers!
Shabazz’s proposals for how street space can be repurposed to support cycling and promote business are informed by his three-year stint running operations for Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, the business improvement district for the third busiest retail district in the City. Shabazz is a member of the Board of StreetsPAC, the cyclists’ political action committee, and of the Advisory Council of Transportation Alternatives. He also has been a leading voice questioning the city’s pandemic transportation policy.
