We are exploring all the Queens waterfront we can find on this ride, and many different neighborhoods, all identified on your cue sheet.  We start with Queensbridge, Rainey, & Socrates Sculpture Park, and Hallet’s Cove. After we leave Astoria we cruise through Jackson Heights and catch the Flushing Bay Promenade with a wonderful view of Flushing Bay and LaGuardia Airport.  Our ride to Beechhurst is through picturesque neighborhoods to Little Bay Park greenway with a spectacular view of the waterfront beneath the Throgs Neck Bridge. If Fort Totten, a former US Army Installation, now a national park, is open you can take a tour.  After the Cross Island Park greenway we follow mostly on street protected bike lanes to Alley Pond Park and the Vanderbilt Motor Parkway. Return is along 73rd Ave to Meadow Lake & Flushing Meadows Corona Park, ending at the QBB.

Possible lunch pickups in Flushing along Union Street & 29th Road including JK Bakery, or along 150th Street & 14th Ave in Whitestone.  Picnic lunch in Little Neck Bay Park in warm weather is a great outdoor option.
